Chennai's great run at home continued as they beat Kochi by 11 runs. Chennai was largely helped by wicket keeper Saha's brilliant 46. Later, the Chennai bowlers retricted Kochi to 141/5. A great double century partnership of 206 runs, between Gilchrist and Marsh destroyed Bangalore. It surpassed the earlier record of 170, posted by G Smith and Bosman.
